Always check the following before starting an aluminum fence installation. Homeowner associations may restrict the fence size or type. It is the responsibility of the installer, whether homeowner or fence contractor, to comply with local building codes. Many utility lines – gas, electric, water, cable – are buried. To avoid damaging any of these lines, call your local utility two or three days before you dig. Ornamental aluminum fence can be easily installed by the do-it-yourselfer. Before starting your installation, determine the lay-out of the fence. One helpful tip: mark its position on the grass with spray paint. This will allow for accurate measuring and proper post and gate positioning. Determine the number of fence sections, posts, fitting sets and gates needed. Installation Tip: When a gate is to be hinged onto a standard post, fill the post with concrete for added strength and then mount the gate in place.
